Spotlight On: Sheye Rosenmeyer

I have a confession to make. When I grow up, I want to be a photographer. Specifically, I want to be Sheye Rosenmeyer.

I've been following her work for quite some time now, and what I love about her is her ability to turn the most ordinary scenes into something breathtakingly extraordinary. Quite frankly, it makes me all kinds of jealous.

Sheye's got a fantastic eye for detail. Her photos are a whimsical composition of colours, contrasts, and shadows. Some are wonderfully candid, as though taken on the sly without the photo subject knowing. It's like being given momentary glimpses into other people's lives, into their moments of joy and introspection.

Who knows? Maybe someday I'll be good enough to produce work that's half as evocative as hers. I certainly hope so.
