My favourite time of year

Halfway through December, and once again I find myself wishing I could hit the freeze-frame button and live this month over and over again, simply because Christmas is just around the corner and I love everything that comes with it: the gift buying, the barrage of sales, and most of all, the fuzzy feeling of goodwill.
*
One major difference this year, though. I have to keep reminding myself not to overspend – a very easy thing to do, since I adore buying Christmas presents for the people in my life, and I tend to throw financial caution to the wind when I find something I know my intended gift recipient will love.

My first present-buying port of call this year was the bookstore. It's surprising the gems you find when you least expect it:

I've still got a whole list of people to buy presents for, but since Pick & Grab 8 is on this weekend, I figured I'd kill many-many-many birds with one stone. I've sorted out what my siblings and mom will be getting this year, but I'm a bit stumped on what to get for my dad The Super Chef. He's amassed so many cookbooks over the years that he could probably open his own cookbook shop! Something different this year, then.
